I think it will motivate many people and companies to replace and upgrade.their PCs. I have thought for some time that Compaq is a solid Y2k market play.<<<<< Agreed, falling pc prices and the high cost of Y2K compliance may actually prove to be a boon to box makers as companies would rather accelerate their upgrade/replacement cycle for their pc's rather than hire an outside contractor to Y2K proof their mission critical pc's.
