X, Could you tell us what years you were required to model uniforms for the boss? I hate to state the obvious, but being chubby or overweight is not within the sole province of those over 30 years of age. I don't have an answer to why our observations should be so different. All I can do is invite you up to my corner of the bay and take you around so that you can see for yourself that we indeed have older restaurant workers of both sexes employed in elegant eating and drinking establishments. Somewhat off the age topic but still germane is that one of the reasons I could not join my friends at the Playboy Club and make tons of bucks like they did was that I wore glasses, and contact lenses were not a viable option for me. Wearing glasses also disqualified me for consideration as a flight attendant. My point is that physical attributes, perhaps more than age, continue to factor into hiring decisions, as do personality and charm or lack thereof. But what do I know, really. I've been telecommuting in solitary for years. Holly
