Has anyone noticed the number of open contracts for June 30 calls? Very large. Someone is expecting something very positive soon whether it is earnings next week or some other type of news

Pat: Brokerages are starting to side with you.

"Shares of Newbridge Networks Corp. (NN) edged higher on positive comments from Bankers Trust Alex. Brown. The firm said Newbridge is on track to meet the current April quarter consensus estimate of 13 cents a share and continue to be strong in the following quarter. Shares closed up 15/16 at6 27 15/16."

This came out yesterday and today their is another one

"09:18 ET Analyst Talk: Shares of marketing services company CKS Group (CKSG 18 1/4) upgraded from "hold" to "buy" at Prudential.... BA Robertson Stephens (excuse us, BancBoston Robertson Stephens ) starts shares of networking products company Newbridge Networks (NN 27 15/16) with a "buy"... Also started with a "buy" at Robertson Stephens was First Virtual Corp (FVCX 12 1/2), a manufacturer of products that deploy business quality video over the Next Generation Internet (NGI). FVCX debuted in late-April at $13 a share, in a deal led by R. Stephens. Last night, company reported a Q1 net loss of $0.13 vs a yr-ago loss of $0.44. Yr/Yr revenues soared 231% to $9 mln and increased 18% sequentially. Stock flat in pre-market."

The accumulation that went on in the last couple of weeks has been a indication that brokerage houses like this sector, only a opinion.

regards

cruncher

Pat, how do you get access to H & Q's notes? I considered moving an account to them for the purpose of accessing their research but they have no Canadian outlets so there are some logistical problems for me.

Appreciate your steady stream of informative posts and insight by the way. Cheers and best wishes.
