Recall that people were saying the same things about CPQ vs. IBM 7 or
8 years ago. CPQ had given IBM a beating in the PC market since
IBM would not lower their prices to be competative. IBM simply
figured that businesses would continue to buy the brand name, even
if they paid a premium for it. After gaining a good share of the
business PC market, CPQ decided that it too didn't have to be
price competative and DELL came in and took over. Now DELL claims
that it will not bite into the trend for the sub $1000 PC...
does anyone see a trend emerging?
