All very sad. I wish Mohan would pay us a visit and give us the
benefits of his insight here.

To me one of the saddest parts of the whole business is the
pathetic ineptitude of the US government and the idiotic notion
of nuclear nonproliferation, as though the entire brain trust
of the world were locked up in the Mojave desert and Siberian
tundra. Similar to encryption technology controls. Back a
tiger into a corner and chances are pretty good you'll come
away with a scratch or two, ESPECIALLY if you hide your head
and pretend he's not there.

This is, of course, in addition to corruption bordering on
treason (if not actually over the line) on the part of those
high officials (who didn't inhale?) that have the responsibility
of playing our part in it. Sorry, got carried away.

As to those markets (Mohan, where are you), these large countries
have proportionally tiny economies, especially in the high-tech
sector. It's not so clear that there will be a large direct
impact on the techs. Indirect effects and effects on markets
(as opposed to industries) is another issue. Chances are
pretty good there will be instability, which our foreign policy
is highly likely to make worse.

Now, aren't you sorry you asked?
