Thanks Rhet! That's comforting news!

And OS 8.1 is much of the way there too with even further convergence due out this fall. In reference to your anecdotal experience, I rarely ever have to reboot after a program crash now. I just jump to the finder, click OK on the warning dialogue box, then go back to work. If it's Netscape 3.01 Gold that crashes, as it very often is, I even restart it right away without going off line. Is great!

Incidentally, Quote.com's live charts page works with my Macintosh. I seem to remember Linda and someone else discussing that they could not get it to work due to JAVA errors. I found that if you make sure that no other Java windows are open, it clicks along just fine. Also, need to run with defaults in the Memory Control Panel. Virtual memory on. Disk cache at 2.5 Mb. It's pretty neat! One minute live chart updates with each block listed as it goes through. 15 minute delay free. Try it out. If one wants to use it to monitor live real time quotes without the delay, it's around $80 a month or $600 a year. Steep, unless it consistently improves trades. Could pay for itself.

But really takes over the computer. If you plan to use it it helps to clear the browser's cache first.
