I usually do well on these kinds of trades, but the reaction to the news was too swift. I normally only do it with a company I actively follow which was my big mistake. I don't know enough about Centocor. I mostly followed what a friend had said.

Still, I find the whole action of this market is suspicious. That was really my original concern. I find it a little hard to swallow that they could go from an ask of 39 3/4 to fill an order at 42 7/8's. Seems like they should have halted the stock for a trade imbalance if they were so out of whack.

Also, the moment they filled the orders in the pipe, they immediately dropped the price. Was a lousy action. Have you all found the market makers on Centocor are very cut throat? Is this typical?

Regards,

Mark

PS Needless to say, I hate to loose. I'm holding at the moment. Looks like this company should recover some of this loss next week, but what do I know.
