Technology..leadership and where to trade. I've been asked about the technology sector. My knowledge is really just in stock trading and I'm not that intimately involved with all the tech companies. I've played about 4 score of them over and over again. I don't think leadership is in technology nor does it matter. If you take a look at stocks that have been winners today you will see stocks like BKE, WMT, VTS, JDEC, ISLI, BWG, WTSLA, LOW, COST, ANF.. you will see money is still flowing into the market but in sectors of companies with accelerated earnings growth (i.e. SCSWF, VTS, BWG, JDEC) or companies where Americans like to spend their money like COST ANF, LOW, KM, WMT. Retailer and 'growth' companies will take the reins for a while. Maybe just until the tech sector regains the lead. You don't have to stay on the sidelines but you will have to reacquaint yourselves with NYSE.. and some really good small/mid cap growth companies. Chasing tech stocks (DELL, INTC, AMAT, SUNW) can be very frustrating and a play in futility. Looking for the next stock winners can be found no farther than your mall (STAR,SBUX,BBY, LIN,LOW,WTSLA,ANF..) or even your the strip plaza (HD,ODP, SPLS, RAD,BFT).. across from your home.

Sectors change, today it was retailers, select oil issues, builders, tomorrow it might be pharmaceutical, airlines etc. Whatever it is, you have to flexible enough to ride the wave of the sector currently in favor. Don't wait around for DELL, check out some nice company you might discover on someone else's watch list. You will be surprised at what good trades are still out there.
