I'm still waiting for the day when I can go into a store and see ADSL modems for under $200 and a coupon for trial ADSL service. It will take the likes of AOL, IBM, MSN & other online services to get the word out and provide the services to get the ball rolling. ADSL is still just out of the grasp of the end user. But getting closer each day.

I don't think the general public needs to understand the concept of ADSL...the only concept they need is to see a friend next door cruising the 'Net at ten times the speed they are...that's when the stocks will take off.

The lethargic minds are those of the RBOCs like SBC...they killed Pac Bell's fiber to every house program and stifled it's ADSL program up until now. Why now are they getting active...SIMPLE really...the head of the FCC said they were going to allow private companies to come in and connect at the TELCO CO and bypass the switch to get an always on connection...it's a new thing for the RBOCs...they have to compete now. <teh heh> <giggle> <giggle>
