Maybe if you pulled your head from your posterior, you might realize that not all consumers are the same as you. And you might also realize that you misunderstood my so-called contradiction. What I mean is that the consumer cannot get the machine straight from the vendor with anything other than IE. Yes, they have choice, but to the less savy consumer, may not realize it or want to got through the effort to install something else.

Take a deep breath, open your mind, and read the link below. I am not out in left field on this. A LOT of people feel the same way. Here is a quote from the article...

NEC Computer Systems Division will begin selling a new laptop computer with Windows 95 but without bundling in Microsoft Corp.'s Web browser.

"It's all about giving the customer choice, which is what they want anyway," said D.J. Anderson, spokeswoman for the Mountain View,
Calif., firm, on Thursday.

So the DOJ has helped the consumer buy forcing the market to offer choice. What a revelation!

Look, I like to gov't to stay out of the way as much as most people. But I also know that without the gov't, companies like microsoft would run all over consumers and the FREE MARKET ending up more powerful than the gov't itself. So you can continue to bow towards Redmond,WA 5 times a day, but I choose not to...
