Ref:Economic Times articles /Computer Associates. To NW & spots. NW & spots: I couldn't get to the articles directly from the links you posted however I did go there and I think I have read the articles particularly on Computer Associates investments in India to the tune of some 100 million.Is that what you were referring to??? It is true USA is a big market for India for the software industry and this year they would export some 2 billion dollars or more worth of products.All the major American software and hightech companies are already there.India is also an emerging market for the U.S hightech companies. During the first quarter of this year India had the highest growth rate in PC sales in Asia with a 35% increase in sales. Compaq is the number one PCs vendor there among the foreign companies in India with the largest market share. I believe a lot of American companies are still trying to figure out what is included and not included in the 'sanctions'. Matter of fact some top executives (12 or so) from American companies were in Washington the other day trying to get clarification from the State department on the sanctions and to lobby in favor of India. I do not know what the implications will be if this thing gets out of hand.If you hear anything lets us know.Thanks. Let us hope cooler heads will prevail!
