The markets are likely to sell off again before the July earnings season, creating more bargains. But even if the indexes hold up, there are sure to be sector-specific panics sparked by bad news from one company in a group. Often this can present a buying opportunity, as well. In today's jittery markets, a single company with some problems can pull healthy firms in the sector down with it. This occurred late last week in a fast-growing segment of the software industry known as "supply chain management," or software that helps manufacturers manage inventory and distribution better.
