Well, my dear JMD surfer, I've traveled on, around, between (Le Riviere Salee) and under (scuba that is) the isle of Guadeloupe, and it ain't no prison colony. A department of France, actually. Cell phones are becoming big in the islands. And -- the nearby islands (which just happen to be ex English or Dutch colonies) are all using analog phones and systems. The same one, actually. Can't have that encroaching into the sphere of La Grande France, you know. Doug
