May be the 7th fleet???

gunther:

I have no idea what Clinton is talking about at all. Perhaps he thinks the 'sanction' is going to be ineffective unless he succeeds in convincing the 'allies' to make the 'sanction' multilateral [a la Iraq] which he was trying through his emissary Albright and Richardson [at least that is what Richardson was saying that they are going to do,last night on Charlie Ross].He might be having difficulty getting everybody on board and hence the 'strong warning'.

I sincerely hope he doesn't do anything foolish like park the 7th fleet [you know the U.S did that a while back but then things were different] in the Indian Ocean as a substitute for a poor policy, that will be a grave mistake in my opinion because we don't know what that will lead to.

Clinton is moving from a policy of dual containment (Iran/Iraq) to one of quad containment (Iran/Iraq/India/Pakistan).

Come to think of it, we could contain them all by building a wall alongside the US borders.
