Motorola developing hybrid modem
It will be used with both regular phone lines and ADSL high-speed
Internet connections - REUTERS

CHICAGO, May 27 -Motorola Inc. said Wednesday it
will develop a hybrid computer modem that can
be used with both regular phone lines and ADSL
high-speed Internet connections. Motorola said the
modem will work with regular phone lines and be
upgradable to future ADSL standards as they are
finalized. ADSL, or asymmetric digital subscriber
line, provides high-speed access to a network via
phone lines and additional equipment at the
central office.
