Unfortunately, everything you are saying is wrong. But that's ok because it is complicated.

Thanks for the clarifications. I own a small service business, and do the bookkeeping for it. I guess that doesn't exactly qualify me to analyze Apple's books.

Judging from others' posts, the upshot seems to be the same, though: Apple is doing well, and without resorting to accounting tricks.
