Unless, the delay is related to a need to retool with DUV scanners. Of course, this wild speculation at this point.

Not necessarily. Everything needs to be in place for production, so I suspect that Intel has all of its equipment in place or on order for the originally-planned Merced production.

The production delay could affect plans for additional equipment that may be required to meet future demand, if the future demand could not be met with current production equipment.
