DLL,

I agree the question up to what point of pregnancy should an abortion be allowed, is complicated.

The question whether or not a woman has the right to an abortion is not complicated. As a citizen of the USA, she absolutely does.

If god thought that woman was so incapable of deciding this complicated situation for herself, HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN MEN THE ABILITY TO HAVE CHILDREN.

If god trusts women with being the carriers of life, I do as well.
Of course, if you believe they cannot be trusted with this mission, then you are questioning god's judgement.

If you are so sure abortion is wrong in all cases, you should be fighting with all your energy to see to it that every young female in the world is provided with birth control.

Hope I explained my position.

When god assigns a mission to one of the sexes, I respect his wisdom.

Ann

DLL,

Abortion is much too important a subject to drop in a few sentences.

It is the paramount example of how SOME men(the dogmatic,self-righteous ones) use a double standard for judging men & women.

Do you feel as outraged with men who fail to use self control & impregnate a woman, then abandon her. Men have been doing this to women since the beginning of time. Are you incensed? My god is incensed.

My god knew exactly what he was doing when he assigned women the task of giving life. He knows that not all situations are black and white. Sometimes a woman already has more children than she can raise in a proper manner without forfeiting the quality of life for her already living children and herself. Sometimes a woman knows she will be an unfit mother and has the wisdom not to become one. Now, the self-righteous will say, "why doesn't she give it up for adoption." Sometimes she does, other times it's is not the answer.

Are you furious at the men who have a family and then when they reach 40,50 or whatever age they start to feel "aged" decide that a younger woman will be the answer to their graying or thinning hair, failing eyes. Many men can walk out on those children & his wife with the same ease of turning in their older car for the latest model.

Are you filled with anger at these men, and just as convinced they are wrong as the women you've judged so severely?

Have a nice weekend.

Ann

Part III of the response to your post DLL<ggg>

You asked how can I pray for one child and then believe a woman has the right to an abortion.

Children don't ask to be born. In the perfect scenario only two people who intend to provide an ideal family environment would be come parents. But life is rarely perfect.

in our modern world there's no need for an unwanted child to be born. Birth control is the perfect answer to prevent that event from happening. Birth control is a 50/50 responsibility.

As far as, fathers rights & abortion, here's my belief: God gave women the ability to give birth or not as an incentive for men to have responsible relationships with their partners. If both partners treat each other with respect & integrity, their lives together are usually happy. Children are born, raised & the partners enjoy the remains of the day together.

I LOVE happy endings.

THE END (I promise:O)

Ann
