Yes, there are optimists on this stock and I wish any stockholder well. My observation is that CNC has managed to grow through shrewed acquisitions over the past ten years. There used to be lots of fat plums around for them to take over and sort out and add to their portfolio. Now many others have learnt the same game and prices in that field are no longer so appealing.

Now they have to see what they can do to actually grow their book of business. That is a very different game. And usually not done well by the sort of financial types who have grown CNC to date. So CNC growth is now to be proven. At this same time, they are going off half cocked at odd new businesses ... I do not see much to excite me and plenty to concern me.

Their big ad campaign has so far registered a zero on the richter scale with me and anyone I have spoken to ... fuzzy ... so what kind of stuff. OK for a GM or IBM that is already a household word. Meaningless for an unknown name like CNC.

If they can make sense out of financing mobile homes and gambling casinos and bring it to the bottom line, I'll be impressed.
