I have been doing the due diligence on a company called Hide and Seek Technologies and believe that this is a company you should know about because it could impact this company greatly. (I'm posting this message on both ALDNF and RNBO boards.)

Hide and Seek is a private company (but is going public shortly) that has a unique software copy protection scheme for optical media that involves polymers that change when exposed to the laser. As you know, software piracy is a multi-billion dollar problem. The same technology can also be used for limited-play (rental-type) DVDs, secure Internet transactions, and other highly-lucrative applications.

The company has received glowing comments from the Software Publishers Association, Optical Disc Manufactureres Association, Replitech, and the industry's trade journal, EMedia. The members of the management team are all highly regarded in the optical media industry. This is not an R&D start-up. They have started marketing now and have received requests for quotes on millions of units. The version currently being marketed includes manufactured defects and is being touted as a Bongle or "Better Dongle."

There is a thread at:

Subject 19938

but it is lacking some of the technical expertise I want to fully understand what the company has.

Hide and Seek also has a web site at:

hideseek.com

I would appreciate any and all comments.
