Spots-

I think it is time for some other company to come forward with a better solution for the windows interface. MSFT is obviously not going to do a decent job of it. I find it curious that no one has attempted to do this in the same fashion. If I could run the Mac interface I would, even though it has complexity and has been built with patches and add ons, you still can take a copy of your system files and applications and simply duplicate them on a removable, or another resident hard drive, in the event of a melt down. I've had this happen, and it is a simple process to delete the damaged system file and replace it with the backup. I can't believe that it is so difficult to do with W95 and NT that you need to do such contortions to back up system data.

Orphans, Registry and Apps

Also appeared to me there was a misunderstanding on this. Just posted to ensure correct understanding. Yes, ya got ta take it all down and start from scratch. This does mean that you NOT Win, must delete both registry files. Also means a complete app rebuild.

However if you want to solve the bloat and any other registry problems cleanly, this is the only answer. The problem lies not just with WIN95 but also all the apps and demos we try out and then "delete/remove".

These removals, best case, leave tons of junk behind including in the registry. Just trying to hunt down all the orphan files could be a full time job. Easier and cleaner to start from scratch. Still a pain but will improve performance.
