Well, there it is. 120-168 Octane. Looks like there may be a new pump at the gas stations of the world. Highest Octane I see at my local gas station is 93. Any guesses why EXXON and other Majors are testing? The unfair advantage!

That was an excellent news release, and I like the way the dividend is implemented.

As a 3:2 split, income taxes will NOT have to be paid since technically it is NOT a dividend.

If you own 2 MIDLP that convert to 35*2 = 70 shares, you now own 3 MIDLP that converts to 35*3 = 105 shares.

It doesn't make a difference for my MIDLP in my Roth IRA, but it sure does in my regular brokerage account.

[Somebody is now going to post, are you sure the MIDLP to MIDL conversion ratio is unchanged??? What happened to my dividend????]

Kurt

Ya know, I may be flamed for this, but this news release is confusing to me. If you do a 3 for 2 split, that means (IMHO) that: if I have 200 MIDLP that give me 35 shares per on Oct.1, 1998, I now will have 300 shares of MIDLP that will give me 35 shares per on Oct.1, 1998. Don't see nothing in that announcement that differentiates between the origional and the "split" shares. I expect to be wrong about this and think that it's another poorly worded announcement, but I thought I'd point it out. Seems to me that (as Gary said earlier) there would have to be a newly denominated stock that rolls as of Oct.1, 1999, as a dividend rather than a split. Hope this doesn't muddy the water too long, as I am long and strong on the Co.
