Should I sell all my 1K CPQ and buy DELL instead? I am confused with the bearishness in CPQ.>>>>
Breifly, yes: CPQ on Big Board, more heavily traded, more thoroughly studied , more predictable than Dell yet continues on down with no sign of recovery in spite of certain actions that may be considered positive like reduced prices, larger (more efficient?) company , sales thru 6800 Radio Shack stores. The 'big-boys' seem to see nothing positive coming up at least for the mid-term.
Unless CPQ can come up with some kind of miracle, Dell should continue to outperform as it has done since the years beginning, and there are several positive items coming up shortly for Dell:
1. The CNN broadcast on June 10 th, which will not be negative.
2. ( Unless the CEO-of-the-year award is decided, Mikie may be in line for that again)
3. A shareholders meeting in July at which there will be a vote on increasing the shares, a look back at a 60% growth rate, and a look forward to more growth.
Of course this just MHO, and I've owned both, but if the choice
was between two equally fine companies. the decision should go to the one that rewards shareholders best( ala Dell, Wmt,etc)
