Mid-Summer Visit to Dublin ?

Should be just about perfect timing for O'Connell Square and Grafton Street according to all the Travel Brochures I have been reading on Ireland

From " Go Ireland !! "....."Slow down, pull off the road and have a Pint....sing a song and dance. There is plenty of parking for all visitors." ( Is that some sort of Joke ? )

The travel agents make it sound like the Celts are getting around in Donkey and Carts and the poor natives are in the throws of a national recession. No mention of Tigers or even pussy cats, Irish Miracle ? Not to be seen in the Travel Brochures. No mention of the abundant Wine Stores and the store shelves stuffed with Paul Newman's Marinara sauce and Pasta noodles.

Heaven forbid if your caught driving a Fiat Uno on N-11 heading south towards Bray. pull over fella and let that VW Polo pass followed by the 7 Series Beemer or it will run up your tail pipe.

As for the road signs, your in great shape as they are in both languages, ( Celtic & English ) allowing you to get lost in two languages instead of just one. And they have made parking very simple, as they have painted those neat double yellow lines on all city streets to assist you in guiding your wheels whilst parking.

Getting out to Bray ?

Ground transportation from Dublin is the most scenic and less hectic and I tried it before I left Ireland.
From just off Dublin's O'Connell Square buses leave for Howth Head. ( stay on till the last stop ) the Waterfront in Howth Bay is very scenic and the DART rapid Transit is just next to the bus stop. Take the DART all the way to Bray ( a 15 mile scenic trip along Dublin Bay ) and you will be at the Home of Trinity and taxi rides are plentiful.

The folks at Trinity are never to busy to chat and make you very welcome and they will have time for any S/H I am sure. Call Niall O'Kelly and inform him of your visit.

Irish Humor !

Two Cannibals from the Figi Islands were eating a CLOWN...
When suddenly one turned to the other and asked !

** Does this taste Funny ? **
