Could this delay in Merced of at least one year actually improve earnings for Intel in the next year and a half or so. How many people out there have been waiting to upgrade their system with Merced thinking they could do that sometime next year. Now those same people will have to wait another year or more to buy a box with Merced in it. Many people will say the heck with it and buy the most powerful chip out there right now, then in two or three years will buy a Merced when all the bugs have been worked out. So people are not going to wait, they will buy now, INTC will sell more chips now, earning will go up. John Carson
