(OFF TOPIC) Jeff: My background is more technical than medical. From your post, it appears you are on the West coast,California. It might help if you give the general location your friend lives in. I'm sure there are medical folks on the thread that will give you a suggestion. Best of luck...

....if she is in arizona/california border i would recommend UCLA medical center as a place to start. after she has had a serious work up i would then recommend she look into alternatives to treat the side effects of the medical treatment.

.....the first thing is to get an in depth analysis and i would not totally trust a small medical center. UCLA is a world class facility.
