OFF TOPIC: DRD: You confirmed my observations about the unemployment situation. The FOMC has not said anything openly about the change in the statistical basis but they seem to still be using the historical perspective of unemployment rate vs inflation pressure. Another Clinton administration spin is the consumer price index. This is based on a typical shopping cart price for groceries. Used to be steak was one of the items. When inflation caused steak to be too expensive people bought chicken so the CPI "standard" became chicken. Now what is it? Hot dogs?

What is your source for the 60 million people working at home? Is it U.S. Labour Dept statistics (I don't dispute it I just need the source).

In Canada favouring women is a popular strategy with some companies (please understand I strongly favour fair treatment for all but I despise reverse descrimination).

Also, what is the age category of the CFOs that you refer to who are having difficulty finding full employment? Let me guess: late forties / fifties? Age discrimination pure and simple but no one speaks up!

Dennis,

<<Sorry, but you got me started with that "unemployment" statistic stuff>>

I kind of gathered that from your first couple of sentences. ;-)

Your points are all well taken...as you're probably aware I was indicating for all practical purposes the economy is doing very well. In fact this morning I heard on the news that even more money is flowing into the U.S. economy from foreign investors, etc because of the stability it is demonstrating.

I'll be dropping you a brief "private message" after I post this.

Good luck!

T.R.

P.S. No "apology" necessary...I've been where you are and fully understand the frustration.
