Yes hbohlig...I agree that every site will go down at some point or another. I also do computer tech support and I know people panic when they know the server has to be worked on. In defense of Buckeye, it would have been a good thing if PNLK had pre-warned users when signing in that that it was being worked on. It still wouldn't have been productive to Buckeye but would have abated the stress somewhat. Even AOL annoying as it is when one of their proprietary links is down, will pop up a response that the site is temporarily down and sometimes gives a timeframe. This does alleviate frustrated callers from flooding the tech lines and allows them to workout the problems unemcumbered to some degree. The company I work for has close to 50,000 users and it notifies us AHEAD of time with a date and time when our system is going down. Needless to say, it is VERY inconvenient to us and it affects all of our customers, but it does allow us time to have a contingency plan . I think Glenn did after the fact post that the site was being worked on, but poor Buckeye was at his wits end by then. PNLK is too new of a website and too untested for users to have full confidence and it should be even more diligent on PNLK's part to be more cognizant of its responsibility to its potential customers as there are many people who aren't computer literate and will jump to all kinds of conclusions when the website isn't working...In the future, I hope it will have a disclaimer over these next six weeks when they are repairing, upgrading, etc. Think of what other customers they may have lost in addition to Buckeye...(although in Buckeye's case, the areas he needs are just not in place yet)....
