Bachman, great post! Nothing elicits my chuckles and guffaws faster than a good dose of logic liberally applied to specious arguments.

RE: <<Article said that INTC manufactures "chips, hard drives, and other components". Article did NOT state that INTC manufactures PCs to be relabeled and resold; Mr. Karsten said that.>>

Your article was an impressive display of logic, and good reading, but you missed something. The first part of the sentence you quoted says:

"In August, Intel will begin phasing out its PC and server computer manufacturing operations in Dupont"

That clearly indicates that PCs and servers are built in Intel's facility there. The article then goes on to say that customers include Dell and Sony. So we are still left with the question: Are Dell computers produced by Intel for Dell at Dupont or not. Mr. Karsten made the assumption that they are and you took issue with that, and the conclusions he derived from his assumption. I don't know the answer, and I really hope somebody can clear this all up. Here's the link again for everyone. Cheers!

Yeah.. I basically figure that Dell would not be affected by Intel's change of plan. I think rudedog explained it well on the Compaq thread.
