Boob you were angry about a forward split over a dividend???? No way. The company just saved you a ton of tax. Dividends are taxable splits are not. Plus instead of two differnet prefer markets you have one.

I WAS angry, now I am HAPPY...in the case of the P's this is a very unique situation because the number of shares they convert to does not change so it is a very different type of split. THis is what I thought of at first:
1000 P's @ $25 = $25,000
With dividend you would now have:
1500 P's @ $25 = $37,500
With split you would not have:
1500 P's @ $16.67 = $25,000

I looked at these figures and as you can see it's a difference of $12,500 from changing from a dividend to a split..HOWEVER, after doing some calculations I eventually realized that is ONLY the short term results and in fact the SPLIT IS BETTER FOR THE LONG TERM. IMO this was a brilliant play by the company because it benefits long term holders and NOT the daytraders since you must wait to reap the rewards...since i'm holding anyway I now realize that this is by far the better deal for me....plus the tax advantages as you mentioined...

Oh and a knowb day trader do not send me your supposed long because I refuse to add it to the tally ... if it walks like duck, talks like a duck ... guess what it is a duck.

QUACK QUACK...WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? I have been holding the P's forever and DID NOT sell any into the run up above 40 like many here did nor do I have any intention of selling this one...if I were daytrading this I would have dumped into the run-up...hell I can hold a stock better than most...still have not sold a share of AVBC from a nickel but instead I have bought more in the 30cent range..this I have been holding and adding for about 8 months and if that constitutes me as being a daytrader so be it....GNNX I had accumulated in the 30cent range and sat on LIKE A DUCK for months before it finally hatched and 10-bagged etc.etc.etc. Sure I do daytrade but being the duck that I am I can know when to hold'm and know when to fold'm. This is one where I am not only holding but sitting on it waiting for it to hatch, LIKE A DUCK. If you don't want to include me in the count than so be it...I do not care what others think but I will continue to sit on it and wait for my duckling to hatch. I have no clue what I did to justify a response like that but IMO it was unneeded.
