If the premium jack-ups are moving into shallower water, then wouldn't there be more rigs chasing after the same shallow water projects? And wouldn't this, in theory, put pressure on shallow water dayrates?

I suppose if I were a forward looking shallow driller, I'd be thinking about moving up any refurbishment projects I had planned for the future. Of course, the yards may already be booked.

I'm also wondering how quickly any slowdown in drilling activity gets passed through to the equipment/service companies such as EVI, RON, SII, VRC. Thoughts anyone?
