Well maybe their gross margins are great. But then they would have to be getting killed on their operating expenses.

Anway, they are not making squat profit. I thought that that is why they are in business.

You must have a pretty simple idea of business accounting to post this kind of nonsense. Compaq's presario line, which makes a gross margin of about 20%, has been consistently sold out for most products, is growing at about 100% per year, and absolutely does make money. Unfortunately for CPQ it did not make as much money as commercial desktops lost, thus overall the company had zero profit. The real situation is a bit more complex but I think that's enough for a first lesson.
