Postal Workers Rally Against Priority Mail Giveaway; Nationwide Demonstrations Target Privatization and Contracting Out

biz.yahoo.com

....This is what I was talking about, I was hearing rumors of this all day, but I wasn't sure what it was.

"Postal workers are also concerned about a bill in Congress -- H.R. 22 -- that would privatize vital chunks of the Postal Service . ''H.R. 22 will mean special deals for big package delivery corporations, and higher costs to the average consumer,'' said Doherty.

Benny(still not sure if any of this would effect the price of a stamp)

"The contracting out of Priority Mail is only the beginning of the Postal Service's plans to privatize and dismantle the Postal Service. They also have proposals to contract out retail stores and bulk mail facilities."

...Well, to sum it up, they're making a big deal of this in Philadelphia, we will just have to wait and see if it goes anywhere. Remember when a phone call used to cost 10 cents and then overnite, it increased to 100% to 20 cents, and then again to 25 cents. I for one, wouldn't mind if it happend to a stamp.
