I understand that CPQ has occasionally farmed out some production especially when a really hot product takes off and they can't meet demand, but it usually a small part of overall product run, and it is never 'drop-shipped' but goes through CPQ quality control. This is not a third party box, but is an assembler who uses CPQ designs and engineering specifications. CPQ's favorite vendor for this type of work is not Asian but is an outfit down south in the good old US of A (which by the way also does a lot of Dell's spot excess work). But I don't know everything that ever happened at CPQ (I probably don't know everything that is happening now!!) and I would be reluctant to contradict hpeace on an issue of CPQ fact.
