Paul, thanks for one absolutely TERRIFIC LINK!!! I think anyone who has a tendency to trade stocks should read and reread this. And the studies referred to didn't take taxes into account which makes the buy and hold strategy even more successful.

Read some books from Martin Zweig. His studies have shown that if one buys and sells when specific indicators appear that one could have beaten the market hands down over the past 80 years. Also since these indicators only come up several times a year, one could have placed to cash on the side into some interest bearing account. The article you posted seems to ignore this option.

Zweig stresses discipline and staying with the "system".
