It's not possible that they did so without help and any fool can see that Not possible. Well FYI usa refused to ship supercomputers to india so india developed their own and much faster than the us models and are now marketing it internationally. Some of the best Physicists and mathematicians have been from India. The number zero (0) that you are using royalty free was invented in India. Otherwise you would be using VII, XXIIXX. Try doing math with these numbers and producing your nuclear devices. The only reason most people in other countries cant innovate is because the govt. gets in their way at every step. Hell just to set up a company in india takes at least a year and 20 people to bribe. GIven the freedom to do what they want, a billion people in india can surpass all innovations of the good old us-of-a. and it would not take long for someone like me to end the Proliferation if I had my hands on the strings. Given your statement, I would encourage every country in the world to arm themselves. We never know when a madman will come to power in america. and a sufficient detterent will be needed so that the people of america will not let a modern day hitler try to destory others for fear of destroying themselves. Still I'd be surrounding them with so many Neutron bombs it would give them a lot to think about. I be tempted to do a complete blockade of both countries until they came to their senses, and kick any ones ass that tried to run it too Its s a good thing that Russia, China, England and France have nukes to make sure you dont show your muscle in the world. And BTW all they would have to do is explode the bomb in their own backyard to destroy the world. So dont go thinking that you can nuke a country and expect ot survive jus because they may not have the missiles to drop the nukes on your land. The world can not survive if every country in it decides to go the way of Nuclear bombs, it wont work. So you have decided to be the lord and master and protector of the universe. Do we point towards the usa 5-times everyday and prey(pun intended) for our safety and wellbeing. And oh BTW how much should we pay intaxes. Will you at least let us keep enough to feed our children. And BTW how many children can we have ?? Can we pray to our own gods in addition or do we have to pledge allegiance to usa only for risk of our life and that of our children. I do believe we have acted in good faith I was talking to some native americans. The story coming out of there is one of "never trust the white man". They cheat, steal, betray, lie.......You feed them trukey when they are starving, teach them to grow corn and what do they do - kill us, take our lands, bannish us to barren lands calling them reservations, invent tools of mass murder like machine guns, kill all indians, kill all buffalo, no can eat that much buffalo but kill anyway. And of course you probbaly know what the Japanese people had to say. Ah yes!! the fruits of victory can be very sweet. ratan

James, sorry to interfere, but both countries India and Pakistan have a long history of very advanced theoretical research in the "nuclear" field. So their achievements are not coming as a surprise. From a technological point of view - e.g. actual launch/delivery of such systems I do not know and you may be correct, but in fact an experimental explosion is not exactly a proven capability of delivery. Regardless it IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION mostly from a political point of view as many Islamic nations will be hard pressed to prove their capability. If they will pursue the nuclear option we now speak real danger Libya, Iraq or Iran come in mind not to mention Syria, Egypt and the oil rich countries, Indonesia included. BWDIK Haim
