Dale, IMO CSCO is a safe short here. IMO upside potential is well below current 52 week high of 81(?). Dowside potential is easily in the low 60's.

Dale and all, I don't give much importance to market forecasts issued by letter writers but the consistency of uneasiness about the market this week's Barron's sample of letters. Is interesting:

<< CSCO has a projected growth rate of about 25%, yet it trades at 42x FY1998 earnings and 34x FY1999 earnings. >>

The market will be looking to '99 earnings soon, 1998 is almost half over. 35 times next year EPS doesn't seem all that unreasonable to me. Not exactly "cheap" but C$CO always gets a well deserved premium.

<< That would be the target if CSCO warns about Asia woes in their next earnings report. >>

Asia doesn't affect Cisco's business much. Not too much of a factor. COMS on the other hand...
