Hi, George. Did your gyro mention what the monthly costs would be for a cable modem hookup? There are various "test markets" around the country, but I've heard of the price in only one...$20/month. I don't know what that entails or if it's a permanent price. It's almost 3 times what I pay with web space and multiple email accounts.

However, the baby bells are considering upping the price for phones used for modems. Who knows where it's all going to end up.

As far as S3, it'll probably have some effect in relation to TV screens and the Faroudja aspect, that is if there's still is a relationship between S3 technology and FDJA technology.

Later....say hi to Fields....no Elysian....Elyse!!!!

George,

It's going to be interesting to see where it ends up with cable modems. But you have to believe that as time/technology goes on, the TV/Computer convergence grow more and more. It seems that eventually phonelines will not provide the speed that the user will demand. Hence, cablewire will be the obvious choice of connection. As for where this leaves S3? Well, your guess is as good as mine, Pal.

*Warning to other readers on the S3 thread: George and I have absolutely no idea of what we're talking about.
