Sony Packs Force-Feedback Controller in PlayStation Package


"...Officials at Sony Computer Entertainment America told a group of reporters on Wednesday...that the Dual Shock Analog Controller, a force-feedback game pad, would be included as standard in the $149-priced PlayStation package. The controller will be available in systems on June 16...Completely redefining how PlayStation game-players interact with video games, the Dual Shock Analog Controller's key features include a contact-sensing dual vibration mechanism that shakes or "vibrates" when impacts occur in the course of gameplay. The idea is to offer the player an immersing, realistic experience...The first 1998 titles to fully utilize the features of the Dual Shock Analog Controller are Gran Turismo*, a racing simulation game, and Tekken 3, the arcade fighting game from PlayStation developer Namco Hometek.

Like many other companies, TMSR appears, repeat -- appears -- to be a company with good technology and only average management. This could continue to be dead money for a while longer. But then they could pull a technology surprise that will pop the stock.

It's best to move on to other, better managed companies.
