Somebody has figured this one out on the Oracle Financials side, although I have no idea how well the concept is working. A guy I know who used to be a sales rep at Sequent is now with an outfit called DecisionPoint that builds data warehouses off of the data in an Oracle Financials database. They come in and build your warehouse in something like 8 weeks (or is it 4?) by extracting the data in Financials and rolling it up. I've just seen a couple of white papers, but the approach makes sense. Of course, Oracle should be able to leverage the data their apps themselves. Then again, they have to sell the apps first.
