Bill -
The windfall of cash is nice for CPQ but they tend to manage these businesses on a going-forward basis so that money will not directly offset Alpha costs. They like to tie the finances for a product into a nice tidy chunk, so that a per-processor rebate or royalty would figure into Alpha costs but a 1-time cash payment would not.

As to Intel making Alpha a win-win, I think that would be smart for them but they have a pretty severe NIH syndrome. Time will tell.
