I don't know about other people on this board, but I personally have never been able to find a broker who will allow me to short sell a stock under $5. If I WAS skillful enough to short this stock historically when it was up to $7 and $5, don't you think it might have occurred to me to perhaps cover once the stock traded down to $1? I would be VERY surprised to find anybody on this board or in the known universe still holding this puppy short at this point in time.
