You guys seem to be missing the point that alpha is a very high performance CPU and is not intended for running typical business applications, but is instead geared for engineering, visualization, and client/server applications. Running win9x on alpha is a waste of computing power, as the apps that can really take advantage of alpha's computing power wouldn't function well on win9x DOS core. I'm looking for compaq to make use of alpha in workstations and servers. Alpha would definitely come in handy running NT's bloated 27 million lines of code. I would never run a business on 9x unless the hardware i required wasn't supported by NT. 9x is a consumer OS and is seriously lacking in stability, managability, and security.
