Crossy I have got to start educating you ... why not trying to change the Preferred A from "automatic" to "optional" conversion starting October 1998 ? Because it dilutes the float of the common. Also OPTIONAL is not an OPTION. The P is the strongly held by investors not day traders. Conversion is shooting everyone both P and common shareholders in the foot. Not to mention surrendering the dividends /splits. (Free shares to holders at 35 to ! per MIDLP stock) Call it Greed what ever. The shorting idea would get hampered and every single investor could decide either to wait for further forward splits or to convert to common ? How wait a minute the second you convert to common you give a shorter and inventory of a margin security to short against. You need to go study up on shorting and there are more shorters in the finacial world than you can imagine. The DTC will show that conversion and BOOM shorters have an inventory. GB
