Yet another article from EE Times about copper dual damascene. This guy is sure that Intel is in bed with Applied Materials for their copper work. Damn. Here is a bit of it, you can check out the link if you are interested.

I've spent the last month on an incredible journey through the world of copper interconnects. What I've discovered is that there's lots of activity, but little publicly available information-a situation we aim to rectify.

Copper interconnects, which promise gigahertz speeds with low power consumption, are being propelled from the pilot line into the production fab by IBM, Motorola and other semiconductor makers (see May 18, page 1). Except for Intel (more about that later), all rely on dual Damascene, a fabrication process.
