except that it's wordsmithing that matters, since a
"dividend" is a taxable event, but a "split" isn't.


Also, the "dividend" would have to wait til Oct 1999 for conversion.

The Oct, 1998 conversion date may not ever happen when and if it ever comes to a vote. I will vote "NO" to a conversion.

It's very rare that stock dividends are taxable events. Stock dividends are handled just like a stock split for tax purposes.
