Gates needs his allies because the rest of the software industry has deserted him and, in the opinion of Ken Wasch, president of the Software Publishers Association, "the Department of Justice has him dead to rights."
That's hardly a ringing endorsement of Microsoft's case, and if the most important trade organization in the software industry is against him, Gates is in trouble.
