Buy & Sell columnist Sonita Horvitch says in the Saturday edition of the Financial
Post that Newbridge Networks is a top sell pick of John Crocker, senior
vice-president and chief investment officer of Toronto-based Cassels Blaikie
Investment Management. Ms Horvitch notes the stock, currently $40.25, has a
52-week range of $95 to $26.75. Mr Crocker says the stock is expensive and
there is a risk that Newbridge's market will move away from the technology that it
produces. The company makes computer networking devices. Overall, Mr
Crocker is choosing companies with strong management that have a clearly
demonstrated track record. He says that North American equities are not cheap
at these price-earnings multiples. He says there could be a pull back to allow the
earnings power of the companies to catch up, but the beat of the market goes on.
