Yes, I was surprised I did not make the list.

I would agree that in no way, shape, or form should anyone cast aspersions on Mr. Shelby's or Mr. Teague's reputation. They are public figures whose CV's speak for themselves.

It is exactly the fact that they are public figures, with presumably substantial net worth, which leaves lingering discomfort in my mind. I note that both of these "statements" were forwarded to Greg and first posted in this forum. No official press release by these men (or their firms), no official press release by AENG, just SI and the update to AENG's web site.

I can only speak from my own experience. IMO, public figures generally do not allow legally unaffiliated third parties to represent their position.

Which brings to mind another curiosity. On the AENG web site, both Mr. Shelby's and Mr. Teague's signature was scanned and posted as a graphic. Yet, the text was formatted manually. Since these documents had to have been scanned and converted to a graphic format, it would have been far simpler to embed the entire scanned letters in the web page. There was extra effort involved to cut and paste the signatures. Also, it would have been simple to include a link to the graphic or a .pdf file for download.

These letters can be construed as powerful testimonials. The method of dissemination however, leaves much to be desired.
