Wow,

SOX got pummeled and Kurlack is saying that the semis will NOT recover in the second half. I thought $34-35 would be a good price for ALTR but the price might even get "better". I waitting for some support before I get back in. Although put action was nomial volume I saw two weeks several 100 cts of puts for XLNX in July and August. I guess the feeling is that the summer will be slow.

I don't know much about GateField, I'll have to call their sales rep to see what the deal is. ALTR/XLNX have a good legacy element to their product evolution and it would take a big price/performance improvement to take market share. Also the XLNX literature I have also talks about "effective" gate count. So supposedly raw number gates is not the only important parameter.

I am abit concern about charges related to the WaferTech joint venture. ADI which is also involved got hammered last quarter, not sure if ALTR is exposed or not.
